Lexden House, Tenby
''A Grade 2* listed property was always going to be a labour of love and a complex task to retain the originality and aesthetic whilst providing a modern home to live in.
From the start of the tender process it was clear that Carreg could offer both the professional and relationship skills needed to deliver the plan. A set of 6 projects in a programme stretching over 3 years allowed us to incrementally work our way through as one team, working closely together on decisions large and small to deliver a fabulous end product of which we can all be proud.
The wider team became part of the family and we always felt that they were emotionally engaged in what they were doing. Great technical skills, an eye for detail and a desire for quality were key attributes and were all much valued and appreciated.
The balance of quality, time and cost were bound to create tensions but all were managed with a light touch and with the clients interest at heart.
One of the best decisions we made was to appoint Carreg to manage the project. We would recommend unreservedly.''

Sunrays
After deciding to demolish and create a new family home at Sunrays, we selected Carreg Construction to undertake the project. The site was challenging and exposed to the coastal elements. Our choice was vindicated by the wealth of experience Andrew brought to the project, which was evident as he guided us through each stage of the construction process required to realise our new home.
The property needed two major retaining walls with dual-level access. This introduced many novel challenges and Andrew was pivotal in establishing the best design solutions throughout the build. The whole Carreg team that worked on our property were expert in their craft and the dedication of each member to deliver a high standard of workmanship was evident. Everyone we met was interested and appreciated our vision, and thanks to Carreg Construction we have a lovely new home.
Carreg’s reputation for excellence is well deserved and we would highly recommend their services.

I am absolutely delighted with the work carried out by Carreg Construction, on the rebuilding of two cottages in Pembroke. From the very beginning of the job they provided updates and clarifications on every aspect and detail, even when I had a change of heart on things they worked with me to keep on schedule. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was excellent and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone.

... From start to finish the Carreg team held our hand, helped us through some of the worst moments and ultimately delivered our dream home to the highest of standards. One of the many benefits that we saw was the whole service package, from drawings, design and delivery. If there was an unforeseen problem the team quickly got the project back on track which was especially helpful in our case with an Old Welsh Farmhouse renovation.

'I recommend Carreg’s restoration work as being of a very high standard whilst their execution and programming was excellent. Carreg’s work required the demolition of all (these) extensions to return the buildings to its original condition but with modern services and bathrooms. Walls and ceilings were carefully repaired and re-plastered and the back of the house areas converted into new bathrooms. Carreg constructed new bespoke kitchens and Philip Stark bathrooms with walk in showers and fitted new heating, power data and lighting system. These services were well concealed whilst giving good access for maintenance and repair.'

Cloisters – St Davids Cathedral
'The quality of the construction of the new Cloisters at St Davids Cathedral is due to the way Carreg Construction put shape and substance to the plans of the architect and the needs of the cathedral.
The superb stonework and woodwork, the high quality of the internal and external finishes, the mechanical and electrical systems, the care taken to ensure that the quality of the work both matched and expressed the quality of the architecture of the cathedral, the unique setting and the tranquillity of the sacred spaces are due in a very large part to the way in which Carreg Construction interpreted their brief as the main contractor.
Their work ensures that not only are present needs met, but enduring work for the future, graces the Cloister, the Treasury and the Refectory.'

'It has been a pleasure to work with Andrew and his team. I feel very fortunate we found Carreg to build our home. They were meticulously professional throughout and have a fastidious attention to detail and desire to ‘get it right’ that is very rare. I could not be happier with the final finish of the building.'

'We have had the privilege and experience of renovating many homes in England, France and now Wales. We have worked with various building companies and none have been as professional, efficient and sympathetic to a period property; worked to such a high standard throughout, or provided such practical solutions to both design and finish, as the crew at Carreg Construction. It was a pleasure to work closely with all the team.'

'My wife and I engaged the services of Carreg Construction Ltd to undertake a major refurbishment of No 33 Goat Street, St Davids, a grade 2 listed building, situated within a conservation area within the Pembrokeshire Coastal Park.
Throughout the whole project Carreg acted in a very professional manner and all the work was delivered to an extremely high standard and within the agreed budget. A constant dialogue between ourselves and the company was maintained and all our ongoing requirements were met to the full as the project progressed.
Such is our complete satisfaction with all the work undertaken by Carreg Construction that we have had no hesitation in recommending the company to our friends and family within the area.'

'In 2015/2016 Sue Phillips from Carreg Construction assisted us in choosing and sourcing all of the sanitary ware, fittings, mirrors, tiles and accessories for the five bathrooms, shower and cloakrooms in our new build house. We had an idea of what we wanted to achieve but were overwhelmed by the vast array of choice on the market. Sue presented us with various ideas and designs which she then implemented with the builders. We are delighted with the final results, and the overall quality and finishes provided by Carreg are superb. The service Sue offered was invaluable and we highly recommend her consultancy services.'
