A South Pembrokeshire Kitchen Re-Model

Project Story

Our clients brief was to remodel the existing kitchen area to create an environment that meets the clients needs and expectations.

Providing new kitchen cabinets and the configuration of dining for six, window seating and a lounge area, they wanted to retain the circulation route from external deck area to the hall.

  • Year of Design

A proposed new point of entrance from the main hall to create two pockets of additional space to the main room. The main space will house a large kitchen island, pantry and recessed dining area.

The new kitchen island will sit directly in the centre of the room, aligning with the Aga stove, pantry and large sliding doors to the deck. Housing six undercounter cabinets, this would be the hub of the kitchen providing over two metres of preparation countertop with an overhang at the far end to provide seating for two.

A dining ‘booth’ would be provided in the second gained space, offering spectacular views directly out to sea. This could comfortably sit two to four people with a further two accommodated when required.  A sofa would sit within the window recess, providing an informal lounge space with coffee table and two armchairs. The chairs could then be repositioned to enjoy an evening drink looking out to sea.

The style of the space would reflect the unique location with a natural material palette and timeless contemporary design. This would complement the refurbishment work already commenced and the client’s preference for harmony and simplicity.
