October 2009

The charity event was organised as an auction of products and services donated by local and national businesses, in order to raise thousands of pounds for St John Ambulance activities.

Environmental Issues
September 2009
Carreg Construction takes its responsibility for environmental issues very seriously and is committed to finding ways to reduce the environmental impact of its business operations. Here are just a few practical examples of what we do:
We strive to minimise waste on site and in our office. We crush and grade rubble stone to be re-used in future projects. Waste timber is re-used in wood burning stoves and wood boilers. The company directors, Andrew & Sue Phillips, founded Croesgoch Community Plastics Collection in 2005. This is now part of St Davids Peninsula Plastics Group for waste plastic, with hundreds of members. Waste paper from our office is shredded and re-used as horse bedding and all waste cardboard is recycled.

Really Wild Food & Countryside Festival
July 2009
Carreg Construction is proud to be sponsoring the Really Wild Food Festival for the next three years.
St. Davids in Pembrokeshire, Britain’s smallest City, is the venue for this unique event. Set in the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, The Really Wild Food and Countryside Festival is a ‘Celebration of Food and Countryside Crafts Originating from the Wild’. It shows how we can all explore, understand and make use of wild materials in the same way that our ancestors did, but with some new ideas.
The 2009 festival will take place on 5th and 6th September in St Davids. For more information contact The Really Wild Food and Countryside Festival.
