Local Authority Building Control - Building Excellence Awards 2010

Carreg Construction was the winner of the South Wales small commercial category (under £1 million) for its conversion work into luxury apartments and leisure facilities at the Granary, Slebech Park Hotel, Haverfordwest.

MD Andrew Phillips said “the fact that the Building Control officers at Pembrokeshire County Council recommended Carreg for this award makes it very gratifying and shows the high standard and hard work of Carreg staff”.

Carreg was the only Pembrokeshire winner of this event out of more than 90 companies that were shortlisted. Carreg is now a contender for the National LABC Awards that will be held in London.

Wales Fast Growth 50

Our ‘fast but sure’ growth gained recognition in 2006 through the prestigious ‘Wales Fast Growth 50’ awards, in which Carreg Construction was an all-Wales finalist.

The awards were founded by the leading business guru, Professor Dylan Jones-Evans, Director of Research & Innovation at the University of Wales.

Pembrokeshire Business Awards

In 2006 Carreg achieved two successes in the Pembrokeshire Business Awards.

Andrew Phillips, MD of Carreg Construction receives 2006 Pembrokeshire Business of the Year Award.

The first award was for ‘Information, Communication & Technology’ and the second was for ‘Pembrokeshire Business of the Year’. The first of these two prestigious awards was given in recognition of Carreg's investment in IT systems that are used to streamline the firm's internal and external communications, project management and day-to-day administration. The second award recognised the management skills of the firm's directors and the sustainable growth, which continues to this day.

Western Mail Hot 100

In 2004 Carreg was listed as one of the Western Mail’s ‘Hot 100 Companies’ in Wales.
